Dear teachers and follow students，
Today we stand here on this stage,
and bring ourselves in this memorable moment, for Mark and me gaining
this honorable scholarship. We have worked very hard to get this
award from the school. People think that we are lucky to get this,
but you cannot imagine how much we stand to lose in failure. I don’t
mean that we deserve to have this award, but we used all our abilities
trying hard to fetch it. I think it’s a great and sacred moment
for us right now. However, I think that if we didn’t get the help
of the teachers, students and school, we would hardly succeed. So
right now, I’m standing on this platform, on behalf of both of us
—Mark and me, to thank firstly to the school and the leaders of
this school, for giving us the chance to provide ourselves our future.
Thank you, Principal Deng and Principal Weng. Then, I want to say
thanks to all the teachers who have led us through our studies.
First I like to thank Red, our classroom teacher, who, since three
years ago, has been teaching us a lot of useful English grammar
and personally giving us a lot of advice. Then, Ms. Liana, our math
teacher, who has been giving us great and interesting lessons for
two years, Mark here is her right hand, her smartest apprentice.
And especially Phillip, the teacher of rock, who teaches us how
to be an intellectual person and develop our critical thinking.
So again, I want to thank all the Chinese and Canadian teachers
who helped us through out our high school career. Moreover, I’d
like to thank the students that supported us to this stage. Dear
friends, Mark and I thank you guys very much. Above all, of course,
we’d like to express our great thankfulness to the President of
LIA, Ms Jane Sun and the Vice- principal of LIA, Mr. Alan Quigley,
for offering us this great opportunity, because this opportunity
is only for the minorities who work hard enough. We feel greatly
honored to get this scholarship. Also, it gives us the hope and
confidence to further our study abroad, and we hope we won’t let

Hello, everyone,
As Chester thanked all of our teachers and
students, I like to say again to all of the people who helped us,
the leaders of the school, the teachers, the students, the LIA principal,
thank you very much. Yes, you give us confidence and hope. When
we embrace what lies within, our potential has no limit. We will
imagine ourselves the agents of our destiny capable of determining
our own fate, for it is the sad province of man that he cannot choose
his triumph. However, we can choose the way to study much harder
enough to reach our goal. We have studied very exotically for nearly
three years and gained a lot of successes, but none of them weighs
the same and is as inspiring as this awarding scholarship. With
this encouragement, Chester and I are willing to bring more successes
to our studies after we go abroad. Therefore, again all thanks to
the teachers, that’s all we like to say right now. Thank you. (By

亲爱的老师们，同学们，上午好！
我和薛龙坤同学非常荣幸能够获此殊荣。此时，在这个具有纪念性的时刻，站在领奖台上获得这份奖学金，我们十分高兴。对于这份来之不易的荣耀，我们付出了许多别人看不到的艰辛。大家可能会认为我们获得这份奖学金仅仅是因为幸运，但也许大家不能想象我们是在面对了许多次失败后才站到了这个荣耀的讲台上。我们并不是认为我们获得这份荣誉是理所当然的，而是我们每时每刻都尽力以获得它的标准在要求自己。对于我们来说，这个时刻是神圣的、激动人心的。然而，缺少了在座的每一位同学、老师和学校的帮助，我们是没有机会面对这份荣耀的。现在，我和薛龙坤在这个讲台上，向大家表示诚挚的谢意！首先，我们要感谢邓校监和翁校长以及学校的各位领导，是你们为我们提供了这个良好的机遇和帮助。然后，我们要向在学习上，生活上时时刻刻帮助我们的各位老师们说声谢谢。我们要感谢我们的班主任藤老师，您在我们3年的高中生涯中，像一位无私的母亲，不仅仅给予我们英语上的指导，也教导了我们如何为人处事。我们还要感谢我们的外教老师Miss
Li和Philip。他们不但上课生动有趣， 还教会了我们怎样聪慧地看待事情和拥有辩证的人生观。再一次，我们在这里对所有关心和帮助我们的中方和加方老师们，表示诚挚的感谢！同时，也非常感谢陪伴着我们一路走来的同学们。当然我们尤其应该感谢向我们提供这个良好学习机会的LIA的校董Ms

虽然叶青阳已经代表我向全体师生表达了我们的谢意，但我还是由衷地感谢在座的各位曾给予我帮助的人们。感谢学校的领导们，感谢老师们，LIA的校长和同学生们。非常感谢你们。当我们对自己能力深信不疑的时候，我们就会发现我们所能做的远远超过我们的想象。或许，我们并不能选择在我们未来的人生道路上，命运会给予我们什么样的考验。但是作为一名学生，我们所能做的就是努力学习，朝自己的目标不懈努力，奋勇前进。我和叶青阳这三年来一直在学习上严格要求自己，辛勤的汗水给予了我们不少回报和鼓励，然而这次所获得的荣耀，与以往是不能比拟的。为了回报老师们同学们对我们的信任和鼓励，我们一定会在学习上更加努力。再一次感谢所有的老师和同学们。谢谢。(薛龙坤)
